Junior In, Kyle Out

Wow.

http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/06/13/dearnhardtjr.announcement/index.html

Dale Earnhardt Jr. singing with Hendricks was a surprise; my bets were on RCR. It raised so many questions: What number will he have? Will he still keep Budweiser as a sponsor? We've become very attached to a red car with a number 8, but I'm sure we will adjust. Or will Hendricks procure the number 8? Hmmmmm.

Then I wondered about the line-up of the Hendricks team; would they buy another number, or cut a current member out? I found out last night. Casey Mears and Kyle Busch have both been running very well, but Kyle, a 2006 Cup Chaser, has been taken off the 2008 Hendricks team. Now he is the big free agent.

I'll take a chance and wager he might end up with Joe Gibbs. I'm often wrong, but I'll wager it anyway. On the other hand, it would be awfully interesting to see him in a Toyota, and very good for Michael Waltrip. But what if Kyle signs with DEI?

My head is spinning; let's just focus on what's important: Michigan International Speedway, Sunday June 17, 2007, 12:30 PM EST. Aaah, that's better.
