"Surgite" is the Latin translation for the command "Rise," which I used as a chapter heading in my book, The Haven. While I'm trying to sell it, starting on the sequel, and occasionally mailing out poems for publication, I thought I'd give blogging a try.

I wish I'd taken Latin. It's cool. Luckily my office is next to the Latin teacher's, and she did a few translations for me.

I like words. I like books that create new worlds, and I like how poetry turns my focus on a small splinter of life. I am the nerd in the front row.
